Rafael Badilla, Chile, 12-10-1975

A few years ago I left Chile with my brother and travelled to Spain. From there I travelled through France and Belgium before ending up in Rotterdam. When I was trying to sell some of my work on the streets a homeless man approached me, told me about VIA Kunst and brought me there.

Eversince I've been working there regularly on my paintings, comics, T-shirts, karikatures, etc. In my comics & T-shirts I often use acquaintances and other people around me as characters. I use their photo's to portrait them as karikatures. I also do commisions and assignments. Artists who influenced me in my work are Francis Bacon and the Lastplak masters !
